  The summer was fantastic and the fishing and hunting is getting  better every year.  There were the ususal eater walleyes and again Perrault Lake gave up some awesome trophy fish.  It is nice to see that all of the things we are doing to improve this fishery are paying off.  The numbers and size of all species of fish are going up every year.  There were good numbers of walleyes over 30 in. this year and a couple 29 in. fish caught off the Beach House deck.  The northern fishing was as good, if not better.  Good size range again. Big fish came off of the Beach House, East Bay and Jackfish Island areas.  The muskie fishing was the best, just ask Charlie.  He was the net man on most of the big fish.  He is getting to be a good guide for those big fish. The smallmouth bass always provide all the action you can handle.  Lots in the upper teens and lower 20″s.

The duck and grouse hunters had a blast.  I guess that could be a play on words.  There were limits every day on birds.  Lots of mallards, bluewing teal and wood ducks.  The grouse are just eveywhere. Nothing better than a walk with your dog and a limit of birds, fresh walleyes in the deep fryer and birds on the grill . . . the best dinner in town.  Give us a call to book your bird hunting trip for next year.

And the bears . . . WOW.   We harvested some good animals this year, ending up with 11 animals this year and 2 were chocolate with a blond mane.  We aquired another bear management area this year but we are not going to increase the number of hunters.  All of our hunters had opportunities to shoot and everyone enjoyed their hunt.

Chris, myself and Charlie want to thank all of you who joined us this summer.  All of you helped to make a fantastic summer for us.  We know that you have a choice and we appreciate the choice you made. The weather was maybe a little too nice this year.  It was unusually hot with not much rain.  The lake is down about 3 ft. but somehow it will fill up again, hopefully after we leave.

The grouse are also in abundance.Does not take long to find a limit.A trip down the railbed and a few logging roads and a delious dinner is on the way.

Walleyes and smallmouth are still providing plenty of action for the late season fishermen.The sandbar and east Hatfield reef are providing plenty of action. A fresh walleye shorelunch will be served today during the Packer game.

The grouse hunters are here and doing great.There are excellent numbers of birds.It does not take long to get your limit.Great way to spend a week,a little fishing and a little grouse hunting. Walleyes and grouse for dinner,what could be better.

The duck hunters will be here in a couple days and judging by the amount of ducks in the Ord and Jackfish Bay , those guys will have a great trip.
