Good afternoon Rocky Shore Lodge week 12 blog. Another beautiful week at RSL minus the last day of the week. LOL. It rained all day Thursday albeit a light rain it was constant. Didn’t stop the P2 crew from going out and limiting out on walleyes the first half hour needing ten more to finish up.
The Original Rich award was delivered to Steve for almost sinking the blue boat, and letting it get away from him as he was dropping it in the water. No damage except for pride. He put himself on report, so we didn’t have to. Boat Plugs work better when they are inserted into the hole in the boat.
Walleye bite saw crawlers, leeches, and minnows working. Walleyes were short striking a lot of bait this week. Brian from P2 told me he would have had a lot more fish if they would just stop short striking. It was common amongst some of our better anglers, that’s for sure. The usual August walleye spots were typical, and cloud cover really brought on the bite. If the clouds went away guys would watch the walleyes sink into deeper water and get tight lipped. Always interesting to listen to the guys with electronics spin their tales of the one that almost bit and yadda yadda yadda. Mike from P2 did well on jigging raps but also admitted to losing quite a few because the strike was never expected.
Not too many muskies this week as there just wasn’t much musky fishing going on. If I get a few pictures I will edit the blog for everyone.
Some nice perch and bass were brought in again.
Week 12 MFT results:
Brendan from C-4 captured the micro fish prize with a 6-Inch Smallmouth bass.
Bo from C-1 boated and released a slot 32-Inch Pike to claim the prize.
Mitchell from P2 boated and released a 24-Inch Walleye to claim the Walleye prize!
All very nice fish! Great day for a tournament!
Well folks I’m trying to keep this brief and on Saturday. As I get more photos I will update the blog like I mentioned earlier!
Don’t forget to send pictures!
Tight Lines everyone!
